"Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, also known as Green Dragon Temple (Soryu-ji), is a Buddhist practice center in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition offering training in Zen Meditation and ordinary work. It is one of three centers that make up the San Francisco Zen Center which was founded by Shunryu Suzuki-roshi. Green Gulch Farm is located in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, in a valley that opens out onto the Pacific Ocean. "Tassajara, Zen Mind Temple (Zenshin-ji), is a Zen Buddhist community which was established by the San Francisco Zen Center in 1966. Its hot springs were used by Esselen Indians, and it has been a hot springs resort from the 1860s. From May through August, Tassajara offers guest practice and work-study programs, workshops and retreats as well as individual accommodations for vacationing guests. For the rest of the year, September through April, the monastery is closed to the public so that students of Zen Buddhism can engage in traditional monastic training periods. New Melleray Abbey "In an effort to meet the needs of people in our day, New Melleray makes its Guest House available to people who would like to make quiet, personal retreats. "Tallgrass Spiritual Retreat Center offers a variety of meaningful retreats for women. Tallgrass is located on 4 acres of a larger working cattle ranch. It consists of two buildings, the Main House and the Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse can accommodate 12. "The Abbey of Our Lady of Glastonbury was founded on September 14, 1954, by the Abbey of Saint Benedict, Benet Lake, Wisconsin. It became an independent priory on August 25, 1962. Colombiere Conference Center "Colombiere opened as a Jesuit Seminary in 1959. It is named after Claude de la Colombiere, a Jesuit teacher, orator and spiritual director, who lived in France from 1641 to 1682 and was canonized May 31, 1992. Currently we serve as a conference and retreat center with accommodations for day or overnight guests including appealing buffet style meals, 15 spacious meeting rooms, outdoor pool, auditorium, gymnasium, chapel and other amenities. Although the facilities reflect the Jesuit influence, they are not limited to those of the Catholic faith."
