Jim Brickman
As a boy, Jim Brickman became fascinated with a neighbor's keyboard. His parents, neither of whom were musically inclined, supported his interest. "My mom signed me up for music theory classes and piano lessons," he said. "They bought me a piano when I was 10." Although Jim enjoyed playing the piano, he disliked lessons, and gradually realized that his true passion was in composing, not professional performance. After building a career as a commercial music writer, he decided in the mid-1990s to record an album of solo piano compositions. His debut album, No Words, became an immediate success. Follow-up albums have also been highly successful. Jim combines his piano work with guest vocalists on his albums, creating a gentle, warm musical experience. |
