Joan Borysenko

Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., is a respected medical researcher, a pioneer of mind-body health, and one of the leading authorities on women's spirituality.  A well-known leader of retreats for women, she has gained insight into the movement afoot to find a feminine path to God.  Dr. Borysenko is cofounder and former director of the Mind/Body clinic, New England Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where she received her doctorate in anatomy and cellular biology.

Minding the Body, Mending the Mind

Minding the Body, Mending the Mind (review or buy) offers a unique blend of mental and physical exercises developed at the Harvard Mind/Body Clinic, along with the carefully documented scientific rationale for mind/body healing. In the book, Dr. Borysenko shares her own odyssey of healing as she guides the reader toward a more healthful balance of mind, body, and the greater world.

A Woman's Journey to God

In her newest book, Dr. Borysenko explores the feminine path to God.  Sampling from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, and Moslem traditions, Dr. Borysenko illustrates how women have been journeying toward God in every age and in every culture.  Through a fresh look at old traditions, case studies, new rituals,a her own story and the stories of others, A Woman's Journey to God (review or buy) helps women discover a way to God that incorporates their needs.
