Why Would a Scientist Pray?

Jane Katra and Russell Targ

Jane Katra, Ph.D., has been a practicing spiritual healer for twenty-five years.  She holds a doctorate in health education and has taught nutrition and health classes at the University of Oregon.  Dr. Katra currently works as an "immune system coach."  Russell Targ was a pioneer in the development of the laser and cofounder of the Sanford Research Insititute's investigation into psychic ability in the 1970s and 1980s.  A retired staff scientist for Lockheed Missile and Space, he now pursues research at Interval Research Corporation.

The Heart of the Mind

In this wide-ranging survey of spiritual insight, healer Jane Katra and scientist Russell Targ show how centuries of wisdom teachings all point to a common mystical experience.  A process of self-transformation occurs when we stabilize our attention while entering into a quiet mind.  At the core of The Heart of the Mind (review or buy) is the idea that the experience of God is always available.  Beginning with forgiveness and gratitude, we find meaning and peace of mind.

Miracles of Mind

In Miracles of Mind (review or buy), authors Jane Katra and Russell Targ present compelling evidence of psychic abilities gathered in Targ's remote-viewing experiments for the Stanford Research Institute. The authors also present the results of recently declassified, covertly funded CIA experiments in remote spying during the Cold War, published here for the first time. After surveying the scientific evidence of the mind's nonlocal powers, Targ and Katra then apply this evidence to the field of healing in this fascinating book.
