Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, a spiritual leader in the Sufi Order, was born in London over eighty years ago.  He studied philosophy, psychology, and music at Paris University and at Oxford University in England. He then began an intensive spiritual practice with Sufi masters before accepting a leadership role within the Sufi Order.

Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan is the author of numerous books, including the well-received Awakening: A Sufi Perspective. As noted poet and translator Coleman Barks wrote, "Pir Vilayat is a source and a resource, a living bridge between East and West.
