Sogyal Rinpoche

Sogyal Rinpoche was born in Tibet, and raised as a son by one of the most accomplished spiritual masters of this century, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö. He studied in Delhi and Cambridge, and began to teach in the West in 1974.

Mr. Rinpoche is the founder and Spiritual Director, along with H.E. Dzogchen Rinpoche, of RIGPA, an international network of centers and groups that follow the teachings of the Buddha under his guidance.

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying (review or buy) offers wisdom from Tibetan Buddhism on the process of living and dying.

In the book, Mr. Rinpoche presents a radically new vision of living and dying, based on teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. He shows how to go beyond fear and denial to discover what it is in us that survives death.
